Ken is regarded as the Wyndham Cricket Club's best ever player. His statistics have become the bench mark for all of those who follow. Ken was a fantastic allrounder, who had great ability at both disciplines. A top order batsmen and right arm FAST bowler, he was a tough and uncomprimising character, who played to win. He was a member of the club's first ever premiership side, in season 1978/79 (A Reserve). He was a member of the 1980/81 premiership side, again A Reserve. Finally he topped his career, by top scoring with 54 in the clubs, first A Grade Flag, in season 1982/83. A player of Ken's abilities will naturally accumulate many awards. Some of the highlights are, Association Champion Player on four seperate occassions. Twice in A reserve and twice more in B Grade. He also won the Association Bowling average award on two occassions. Once in A Reserve and once in B Grade. Ken, was not only a great player, he was a great committee man, a great clubman and a great person to have around the club. The club is in such a sound position today thanks to the efforts of Ken Haining. A Club Legend, who's statistics more than support his stature as our best ever player. Some time ago the club decided to honour Ken, by naming our Club Champion Award after him. The Ken Haining Medal, is now the most coveted award presented at out club presentation night. A fitting tribute to a true great.
